Nightmare on Research Street 2023 Pizza Party
Nightmare on Research Street is our annual Halloween Party about the horrors of losing your research, classwork, scholarship, or notes. Participants and librarians hear and share stories of lost work, confusing file names, and notes-to-self-gone-wrong to prompt discussion. We’ll announce the winners of the Nightmare on Research Street Story Contest, too. Let’s learn from each other and keep our hard work safe!
Pizza and drinks are available for all attendees. All levels are welcome: undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, staff, and faculty from all disciplines.
Requirements
-
Registration is recommended to ensure enough pizza, but drop-ins are welcome!
-
Halloween costumes are encouraged but not required.
-
For a chance to win a quality, rugged 2 TB external hard drive, enter the Story Contest or tell a story at this event!
Accessibility
This event is offered in person once per year on or near Halloween (October 31). Automatic captioning will be provided via Zoom. The announcers and storytellers will use a handheld portable microphone for amplification. Context for the event, including past winners, is freely available online. We have no scheduled breaks during this one-hour event. Gendered and family restrooms are available on the same floor. Food (pizza) and drinks will be provided. Additionally, Bizzell Memorial Library has a coffee shop on LL1 (hours may vary) and vending machines on LL1, in the hall east of LL118 (the community room). Water fountains are available on all floors. For additional accommodations on the basis of disability, please contact the event organizer or libpr@ou.edu.
