Space Availability - Western History Collections

Western History Collections @ University of Oklahoma Libraries

The Western History Collections is a special collection within the University of Oklahoma Libraries system. Its purpose is to enhance the University Libraries general collection on the history of the American West; to support the research and teaching programs of the University of Oklahoma; and to provide opportunities for research through the acquisition, preservation, and access of materials relating to the development of the Trans-Mississippi West and Native American cultures. For questions about scheduling your appointment, please fill out the Western History Collections contact form.

Beginning June 26, 2023, the Western History Collections will undertake a preservation project that will make many of its collections unavailable for a period of time. Before planning a visit, please contact staff at westernhistorycollections@ou.edu or (405) 325-2904 to make sure that the collection materials you wish to consult will be available.

Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure the continued preservation of our invaluable collection resources.
