Understanding and Preprocessing Quantitative Data with Large Language Models
Large Language Models (LLMs) can enhance how we interact with quantitative data, assisting with understanding the data, exploratory analysis, data transformation, and generating structured insights. However, while LLMs can help interpret trends and assist in summarizing numerical datasets, they do have some limitations. This workshop will focus on the role of LLMs (ChatGPT-4o, Perplexity, and Llama 3.3) in handling structured numerical data, identifying their strengths, weaknesses, and best use cases.
By the end of this workshop, you will learn about:
- How LLMs can assist in summarizing, interpreting, and transforming numerical datasets through activities.
- Using LLMs through activities for exploratory data analysis (EDA)
- Understanding the limitations of LLMs when it comes to data preprocessing
- Best practices for data cleaning and transformation of quantitative datasets using LLM guidance through activities.
For any questions, please contact the instructors Varun Sayapaneni or David Rankin
