Data Cleaning with Open Refine
This lesson will teach you to use OpenRefine to clean and format data effectively and automatically track any changes that you make. This workshop is targeted towards new users of OpenRefine working with humanities data.

Requirements
- Pre-requisites: No prior knowledge is needed, but you will need to bring a laptop in order to follow along with this workshop.
- Software requirements:
- Have this data file downloaded and OpenRefine installed prior to the workshop.
- For help with running/testing OpenRefine, check out the instructions here: https://librarycarpentry.github.io/lc-open-refine/index.html.
- Registration is required.
- Minimum registrations for workshop to be hosted is 10.

- This workshop will be offered in person.
- Scheduling
- We have 2 breaks, scheduled once every hour.
- Captioning
- Automatic captioning will be provided by Zoom.

- Food and drinks are not provided.
- Food and drinks are allowed in the classroom.
- Water fountains are available on all floors.
- Bizzell Memorial Library has a coffee shop on LL1 (hours may vary) and vending machines on LL1, in the hall east of LL118 (the community room).
