Data Carpentry: R for Social Sciences
R is a popular programing language for analysis, and great for general-purpose programming as well. This is a two-part (consecutive Fridays: April 04 and 11) beginner-level workshop.

- Data Types and Type Conversion
- Built-in Functions and Help
- Libraries/Packages
- Reading Tabular Data (spreadsheets)
- Data selecting and cleanup using dplyr and tidyr
- Plotting and Visualization using ggplot2

- Please bring a computer with a modern browser. Access to additional software will be made available via a JupyterLab portal.
- Registration is: required
- Minimum registrations for workshop to be hosted is 15.

- This workshop is typically offered once per year.
- This workshop can also be scheduled on request.
- We have two scheduled 10-min breaks during this 2.5 hour workshop.
- Captioning
- Automatic captioning will not be provided by default.
- Food and drinks are not provided.
- Food and drinks are allowed in the classroom.
- Water fountains are available on all floors
- Bizzell Memorial Library has a coffee shop on LL1 (hours may vary) and vending machines on LL1, in the hall east of LL118 (the community room).
