Survival Skills: Concepts in Data-Driven Visualizations

Data-Driven Visualizations is a concept-based overview of visualization better practices. Know when different types of graphs are appropriate; make color choices to maximize legibility; and learn about considerations for graphs for manuscripts vs presentations.

By the end of Data-Driven Visualizations, you should be able to:

  • choose a sentence, table, or graph based on your question and data types

  • maximize data portrayed with minimal time, ink, and space

  • present your data with clarity and accessibility

Survival Skills is a beginner-level workshop collection for researchers presented by University Libraries [libraries.ou.edu]. These workshops cover basic data and computing skills needed in all research fields. No prior experience needed (i.e., no prerequisites.)

Registration is required. Specific software is not needed.
